Hotel La Tour Press Day

Last Wednesday we co-organised the official Press Day for Hotel La Tour, and were given an extra helping hand with publicity by the infamous Marcus Wareing, who is the vision behind their destination restaurant, Aalto.

It was a bit of a manic start to the day, involving Phil and I giving new life to the phrase ‘getting stuck in’ by fulfilling no fewer than 100 media packs with press releases, postcards and newspapers. We also painstakingly tied 100 branded ribbons around a box of specially designed chocolates and a signed cook book by Marcus Wareing…all designed by the Cube3 team they looked lovely, but by the 100th one of each we were getting, dare we say it, a little bit sick of the sight of them!

Clearing up the confusion…

It has been brought to our attention that some of our clients have been contacted by the business development team at Cube Creative (also a manchester agency) which has led to a little confusion.

Just to make very clear that Cube Creative, (who seem to be a quality company) are no way associated with Cube3. If you see the 3 you will know it’s us, if you don’t, you’ll know it’s them!

We have received a prestigious design led accolade from leading marketing magazine, The Drum. The exclusive ‘Design 100’ feature places Cube3 within the top 41 design agencies in the UK and more impressively, 7th in the North West.

An astounding achievement for our team considering there are over 230,000 designers working in the UK and over 2,000 design consultancies. The final ‘100’ agencies were selected from disciplines as diverse as branding, interiors and product design and from locations as far north as Aberdeen and as far south as Cornwall.

Rosie’s Rolls…(read on, we do explain, honest)

We like to keep you up-to-date on ALL things Cube3, even interesting goings-on in the office. So it was hard not to report on the latest lunchtime gossip as I sat watching it unfold…

Our Head of Digital, Chris, fancied a change from pre-made sandwiches & chippy but admitted he hadn’t the time or ability (sorry Chris!) to cook up healthy culinary delights for lunch. Enter Rosie.

Look what our talented studio manager, Lisa ‘Deano’ Deane has produced….

With a quick 30 minutes spare, she sketched web designer Martin, using the Paper app on the iPad!

Making the switch to Timeline – the Cube3 guide…

Baffled by timeline? Specialist in all things social, Cube3 have set out a simple step by step guide to help you through each area of the new Facebook process.

  1. Log into Facebook and visit your profile or company page. At the top of your page you should see a box that details timeline.
  2. A small box in the left-hand corner will open a tutorial that will explain the ins and outs of the new layout.
  3. Once you’re up to speed, click the button ‘Get Timeline’. This will convert your profile into the new format but don’t worry, you can still revert back to the old format (for now!)
  4. If you’re still hazy you can take the tour by clicking ‘Start Tour’. This will take you through each element in situ on your own profile.
  5. Once you’re happy with everything, the first thing you should do is upload a cover image. This will be the first thing a visitor to your profile sees and will span the length of your profile. Cover images need to be 851 x 315 pixels. We can help with this!
  6. You can also; change the date of an item that appears on your timeline, add a location, hide it from the timeline or delete the post altogether.
  7. There’s nothing else that needs your immediate attention so if you’re happy with the look and layout….click PUBLISH or do nothing and it will automatically convert on the 30th March.

You’re all set…welcome to Facebook Timeline :o)

If you do need any more information or want to get your business in on the conversation, contact the team at Cube3.
